Custom software development
Software Development
Software that someone has to use every day.
Most software that fails does not fail because the code was wrong. It fails because nobody agreed on what it was for, or because the thing that shipped was a diagram rather than a product.
We take software from the first conversation to the version running in production. The people who design it are the people who build it, so there is no handoff where the intent quietly leaks out.
What we do
Custom platforms
Systems built around how your business actually operates, rather than an off-the-shelf tool everyone has to work around.
SaaS products
Multi-tenant products with the accounts, billing hooks, permissions and admin surfaces that a real customer base needs.
Internal tools
The dashboards, back-office screens and operations tooling that decide whether a team is fast or permanently blocked.
APIs and integrations
Documented interfaces, and the unglamorous work of making two systems that were never designed to meet agree with each other.
Rescue and rebuild
Taking on software somebody else started, working out what is worth keeping, and getting it back to a state where it can be changed safely.
How we work
01
Scope
We work out what the software has to do, who it is for, and what would make it a success. Written down, in plain language.
02
Design
Interface and system design together, because the shape of the data and the shape of the screen decide each other.
03
Build
Working software in front of you early and often, not one reveal at the end.
04
Test
Real people who did not build it, using it for what it is for.
05
Launch
Deployment, monitoring, handover and documentation. Shipping is a phase, not an afterthought.
The same five stages run through everything we make, including our own products.
Technology we use
- TypeScript
- React
- Next.js
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
- REST & GraphQL
Questions we get asked
- How much does custom software cost?
- It depends entirely on scope, and anyone who quotes you a number before understanding the scope is guessing. What changes the cost most: how many distinct user roles the system has, whether it integrates with systems you do not control, and whether it needs to work offline or in real time. We scope properly first and give you a figure you can plan against.
- How long does a project take?
- A focused first version is usually measured in weeks rather than months. A full platform with several user types takes longer. We would rather ship something real early and build on it than disappear for six months and hope.
- Do you work with existing codebases?
- Yes. We start by reading what is there and telling you honestly what is worth keeping. Sometimes the answer is a rebuild, and if it is, we will explain why rather than assuming it.
- Who owns the code?
- You do. Source code, infrastructure and accounts are yours, and we hand them over with documentation.
